Day 1 – Mahākālī: The Root Flame

Shubhanavaratri maakaalikaneelamukhi
Twambalambaalamcha aadirupini
Mumakrodha abhimanascha twamevaarpitam
Twammumaraksham abhinayam
Mamamuladharey surakshakarotimaa
Nirjarajeevanat bandhana nicchedakarmanee
Satyacharitra atmadarsana prapnoti
Twam muma matrupitru bhavani

🔸 Poetic Translation

O dark-faced Kālikā, auspicious mother of night,
You are the first form, the primal support.
All my anger and ego I surrender to You—
Guard this daughter with fierce grace.
In my root, O Mother, be the blazing shield.
You who sever karmic bondage and worldly ties,
Bestow truth and soul-vision—
You, who are Mother, Father, All.

✨ Inner Meaning

This verse invokes Mahākālī to protect the mūlādhāra chakra. She is the destroyer of
attachments and false identities. The seeker offers their krodha (anger) and abhimāna
(ego-pride) into her fire. With her presence, even ancestral karmic knots begin to unravel. She
becomes both womb and guardian of spiritual rebirth.
